Mr. Mape - Art Teacher at MDCPS
Since 2006, I have worked in different roles at school. Now, since 2022, as an art teacher at Hubert O. Sibley K-8 Academy and Curriculum Support Specialist in Visual and Performing Arts Department in MDCPS.
I am a graduate as a psychologist and Master of Education in Colombia. I have worked as a psychologist during 15 years in Colombia, specially, as school psychologist. in 2021, I worked as a behavioral technician with children with autism in New Jersey.
It is with great pleasure that I am an Art teacher in Miami – Dade County Public Schools because my mission and vision in the life is to contribute to human flourishing through art and education.
Regarding to my experience has been in clinical and educational context. As well as, I have developed professional skills with artistic skills related with the art-therapy. Through wich I have made therapeutic and pedagogical interventions with children, teenagers and adults as an expression of subjectivity and collective heritage.
I feel great satisfaction in approaching artistic education as a human dimension, as a great professional and personal opportunity and challenge.
