Celebrating life
Project: Portraits
This is an exercise in gratitude and evocation . Each stroke and brushstroke brings back memories, most of them fond ones, about that person that I am drawing. Memory of shared experiences, especially shared emotions. So, while I draw, I relive those memories, and sometimes, I get lost in those presentations of my mind, that time passes unnoticed, immersed in that remembrance; as if drawing anew what was lived, reviewing the shadows and lights, granting details not seen then, highlighting colors typical of his face.
He said that it is a exercise of gratitude, Market Stall that I have chosen to paint, for the most part, the faces of people I know from first source, in the first person, because their uniqueness has been exposed along with mine, sprouting some kind of love, friendship, sympathy, recognition and / or admiration worthy of thanks , assess and touch with brushes and colors.
Always trying to capture and outline the essence of his gaze, the connotation of his smile, the details of his lines, the uniqueness of his humanity in his face. This is a great responsibility that I cannot always maintain or do justice, since, maybe I just get a cartoonish attempt.
It is an honor for me to paint faces !!!
